There is one modern way to provide a reasonable EIA (environment impact assessment) - is to analyze and compare the quality of all components of ecosystem and geosystem. There are two main groups of components: soils and biota. Generally, in mines they use to develop more or less simultaneously, from stage to stage. That is why detailed research of ecogentic successions and soil development can support and evident indexes for whole postmining complex development.
That is why the aim of this project is to elaborate simple and reasonable indexes for assessment of post mining ecosystems quality for reclamation science research and for improvement of mining management practice.
This aim should be supported by achievement of few objectives:
-study of different age successions of soil and plant communities restorations,
-investigation of relationships between spatial distribution of soil and plant cover on postmining dumps.
-recomendation of indexes for assessment of ecosystems quality
-evaluation of physical and chemical properties of mining dumps in terms of ecosystem restoration

We will develop relatively easy and trustworthy systems of indexes which allows to asses a degree of soils and plant community development in time as retrospective and perspective  context with relations to the specific of post mining environment. This system will be applicable to other limestone quarries of humid climate of Russian North-West.

We will assess the fact and real soil and biodiversity on Pechurki quarry with analyzes of relief and geology of modern quarry surface.

We will give an idea how to improve soil and plant management on existing Pechurki mine on the base of analyzes of chronoseries development.
